Tongliao is in the east of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Regions, in the west of Songliao Plain, it is also the most important part of Kerqin Grassland. Tongliao is between Jilin province and Liaoning province, the northeast and the north parts of China converge here. Tongliao includes Huolinhe, Kailu, Kerqin Economic and Technological Development Zone, Kulun, Naiman, Zhalute, Kerzuozhongqi, Kerzuohouqi, in total 60 thousand square kilometers. There are a lot of different nationalities here in Tongliao, and the majority here is Han and Mongolian. The total population is about 3.1 million.
The history of Tongliao
Tongliao has long and splendid history and culture. It is one of the birthplace of Hongshan Culture and Fuhe Culture. Till now, there are reservations of heritage. Such as Yan Guo Great Wall, Sector Trench of Jin Dynasty, Tomb murals of Liao Dynasty, Pagoda of Yuan Dynasty and Wangfu of Qing Dynasty. Tongliao is also the home- town of Xiao Zhuangwen Queen, General of Qing Dynasty, Senggelinqin, the hero of Gadameilin, it is considered as “ the hometown of China An Dai Arts, the Hometown of China prints Arts, the hometown China Folk, etc.

Kailu
Kailu is in the west of Tongliao with the population of 389 thousand,and4,488 square kilometers.
In 2003, the GDP is 3,101 billion RMB. There is a Pagoda of Yuan Dynasty and Ancient Elm of Ming Dynasty. There is also a Mosque, it is a good sightseeing in Tongliao. It is about 24 kilometers from Tongliao.
Kezuozhongqi
It is a very beautiful and spacious place which located in the east part of Inner Mongolia. The total population is 5.27 million and it also holds the largest mongolian people.
The transportation is very convenient, it contains the railroads from Tong to Huo, Tong to Rang, from Ping to Qi and from Tong to Zheng, all together 191 kilometers. And there is three national roads pass through there. They are Tongliao to Hailaer, Tongliao to Changchun and Tongliao to Huolinguole. Four other important roads also pass through this part. All of this made up of the convenient transportation for the people there.
Kezuohouqi
It lies to the north east part of Tongliao city. And it shares its boundary together with Kangping, Zhangwu and Changtu in Liaoning provience; Shuangliao in Jilin provience to the east; and Kerqin, Kezuozhongqi, Kailu, Naiman, Kulun to the north and west. Ganqika is the place where its government lies and it is also the heart of its politics, economic and culture. It covers about 1.15million square kilometers in total; and it also has a large population of 390 thousand which contains 72 percent Mogolian and some other nationalities.

Zhaluteqi
It lies in the north west of Tongliao city, and it is also a very beautiful place. There are about 3.03 million people there in total which has a variety of nationalities of Mongolian, Han, Hui,etc. It covers 17 thousand square kilometers in total. It also has a long history and some historic interest places.
Naiman
It lies in the south west part of Tongliao, and on the south boundary of Kerqin desert. It covers 8.12 thousand square kilometers. And the total population is 431 thousand. In 2003, the GDP is 2.478 billion and the finance general income is 7.667 million.
It is also abound in natural resources, the mineral natural resources there has already been more 30 different kinds.The hay, Chinese ephedra grass and pampas-grass are the “three treasure of Naiman”
It is also a good place to travel. There are many cultural relics there and some other beautiful places.
A small place named “Shichangwa”, it is famous for the long life of the people there. The average age of the people is 83.14 years old. It is recorded that there is a stone on the top of the mountain, and it was identified that it was “China medical stone”.
